NBSC RECOGNIZES WORK ADVANCING RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) gave On-the-Spot (OTS) Awards to members of the institution for recent accomplishments in research, professional development, and institutional work. Analine L. Demata of the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) announced the awardees.
Ramer N. Verdejo received the Best Presenter award in the Faculty Paper Presentation during the 16th Annual Research Awards held on August 20, 2026, at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in Manila. His paper, “A Heuristic Self-Study in Mathematics: Using RANVER Theory to Generate Exact Oblique Triangle Examples for Teaching Trigonometric Laws,” was the work presented for the award.
Charry Mae C. Grepon was cited for her appointment as an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NCRP).
Jovenel B. Dadulla, meanwhile, earned recognition for the publication of his research in a Scopus-indexed journal. He co-authored “Cultural Intelligence as a Mediator Between Language Learning Strategies and Intercultural Communicative Competence,” which also received 1st Runner-Up recognition in the Higalaay Research Excellence Award during the 3rd Higalaay Multidisciplinary Research Festival on August 20, 2026.
Paul John A. Labastida of the Information and Communications Technology Management Office (ICTMO) was acknowledged as the developer of the 2026 PRAISE Cycle PRAISE Evaluation Rating System. Aldwin Lester M. Martinez, Head of the ICTMO, received the award on his behalf.
The ICTMO also received an OTS Award for developing the Learning Management System (LMS) for Academic Year 2026-2027. The project was reported during the Expanded Executive Committee (ExeCom) meeting on September 10, 2026, to have saved NBSC approximately P1 million.
Nicko C. Cajes was cited for his acceptance into the Global Consumer Intelligence (GCI) World 2026 September Course, a free, three-month online program conducted in English. Offered by the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory of the University of Tokyo, Japan, the course covers artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, including Python, machine learning, and AI applications in business and marketing.
These accomplishments add to NBSC’s research output, professional expertise, and internal capabilities. The reported savings from the LMS development also demonstrate the practical value of work produced within the College, while external research and professional opportunities extend the reach of its academic and technical efforts.
